内容简介:

The advancement of cooperative robotic systems and service robots, which were widely considered as a new generation of robotic systems, has demanded developing high quality servo motors, such as high torque density motors (HTDM). The HTDM not only provides more compact robotic system with core technology for dexterity enhancement in manipulation, but also innovative locomotion control capacity for quadrupeds and bipedal humanoid robots. This HTDM technology was originally invented through a national robotic project called Cheetah Robot, in which the high torque density motors were used to replace hydraulic motors successfully at MIT. This technology also solved the key problem in industrial robotic systems, a well known bottle neck challenging in China. The aim of this talk is present a special type of HTDM design for robotic systems (both industrial robots and service robots, such as cooperative robotic systems and humanoid robotic systems). Besides, this HTDM technology can also applied in the drive systems of electric cars achieving higher efficiency and longer battery range.

主讲人简介:

2James Kirtley (Life Fellow, IEEE) received BS, MS, Ph.D. from Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department of MIT, in 1968, 1968, 1971 respectively. He has been with the EECS Department of MIT since 1971, and was promoted from Assistant Professor to Tenured Associate Professor and Tenured Full Professor at MIT in 1977 and 1994. In 2007, he became a member of National Academy of Engineering in USA. At MIT he has supervised over 200 graduate students including master degree and Ph.D. degree students). He has coauthored two books, several book chapters and over 500 journal papers and conference papers. His main research interests include electromechanics, superconducting generator, Micro-grids and Incorporation of Renewable Energy into Electric Power Systems, high performance servo motors and electric drive control with applications in robotic systems, electric ships, and electric cars. His latest contribution is in designing high torque density servo motors for robotic system such as Cheetah robot. Prof. Kirtley received IEEE Third Millenium Medal in 2000, Nikola Tesla Award (IEEE Power Engineering Society) in 2002. He was the IEEE Editor-In-Chief, Transactions on Energy Conversion, in 1999 -2007 and Associate Editor since 2007. He also holds multiple honorable distinguished professor appointments at Qinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.
